The American Board of Radiology
Announcement

Trustees of the American Board of Radiology are privileged to announce the appointment of Dr. Gary J. Becker as Executive Director, effective January 1, 2008. He will succeed Dr. Robert R. Hattery who has served in this role since July 2002, and who announced his desire to retire earlier this year. The Board deeply appreciates the many contributions of Dr. Hattery during this time and welcomes Dr. Becker into the role.

Dr. Becker began his career in diagnostic radiology at Indiana University. Subsequently, he served as Assistant Medical Director of the Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute of Miami, branch chief of Image-Guided Intervention in the Cancer Imaging Program of the National Cancer Institute, and, most recently, professor in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Arizona. He is a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR), and serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He was elected to the American Board of Radiology Board of Trustees in 2000; since 2006 he has served the ABR as Associate Executive Director for Diagnostic Radiology and Subspecialties.
