Radiologic Physics

If you received a LoCE prior to 12/31/02
If you received a letter of certification equivalence from the ABR on or prior to December 31, 2002, you are not required to participate in the ABR Maintenance of Certification program. However, participating in this program has a significant benefit in that upon successful completion of the process, you will receive an ABR certificate and be listed as a diplomate of the ABR. (Click here to link to Radiologic Physics MOC requirements for more information.)

The MOC program has many benefits:

  • It is an integral part of the quality movement in healthcare.
  • It is valued by patients and physician colleagues.
  • It builds on the validity of the initial certification process.
  • It is an important component of self-regulation by the profession to improve quality of care.
  • It embraces adult learning principles of accumulated life experience, self-direction, goal-orientation, achievability, and respect for diplomates' achievements, using intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and active participation.
