Requirements
You must successfully complete one year of fellowship training (after residency) in a vascular and interventional radiology program accredited by the ACGME or by the RCPSC (Canada). You must also complete one year of practice or additional approved training, with at least one-third of that year spent in vascular and interventional radiology.
You will have 10 years after successfully completing the subspecialty training requirements to obtain certification. If more than 10 years have elapsed from your fellowship training and you wish to attain subspecialty certification in Vascular/Interventional Radiology, you may be eligible for the Eligibility Reinstatement Pathway.
Fellowship training must be documented by a letter from the program director.
Practice experience must be verified by a letter from the chief of service or department chairman.
Provide procedure logs from fellowship and practice year.
You must provide current state medical license with expiration date.
Leave of Absence
Leaves of absence and vacation may be granted to fellows at the discretion of the program director in accordance with local rules.
Within the required period(s) of graduate medical education, the total leave and vacation time may not exceed six calendar weeks (30 working days) for fellows in a one-year program.
