Information Deadlines

ITEM SENT FROM ABR DUE BACK TO ABR
Registration Download from this website Sept. 30 of the year BEFORE the exam will be taken. Late registrations will be accepted until Oct. 31, but there is a late fee attached.
 
Verification of training (documents that resident has completed years 1-3, and projects year 4 activity NA With registration, or before Sept. 30 of the year BEFORE the exam will be taken.
 
NRC Forms A and B (verifies resident has completed the appropriate NRC training for AU eligibility) Mid January March 1
 
Exam Invitation About five months before the exam Deadline noted on form
 
Exam Definite Appointment About two months before the exam Deadline noted on form
 
Verification of training (verifies that resident is still enrolled and is projected to finish the
4th year of training by June 30 of the year the oral exam will be taken)

In-Training Examinations

Program directors are encouraged to utilize in-training examinations to assess the progress of residents in training, to identify individual and/or programmatic strengths and weaknesses, and in general to improve graduate diagnostic radiology education.

Fifth Pathway

The American Board of Radiology will NOT accept the Fifth Pathway in lieu of one of the four years of approved graduate medical education.

Candidate performance on the oral examination will be provided to program directors for assessment and monitoring of their training programs.
