Maintenance of Certification (MOC) is for diplomates who are already ABR-certified in pediatric radiology and are working to maintain their certification.

Diplomates with subspecialty certification hold time-limited certificates, or continuous certificates issued in 2012 and thereafter (with no “valid-through” dates), and are therefore automatically enrolled in the MOC program. They should start participating immediately.

Please note that you may fulfill the MOC requirements to maintain your certifications in both diagnostic radiology and pediatric radiology with a single MOC program. Two separate MOC efforts are not necessary.

The American Board of Radiology has a history of ensuring excellence in the professionals who practice in our field.

As the applications, technologies, and methodologies of radiology continue to expand and develop, we understand that lifelong learning is critical to ensure that new information and knowledge are incorporated into clinical practice. We are therefore looking forward with vision.

The ABR’s Maintenance of Certification process (ABR-MOC) is designed to facilitate and document the professional development of each diplomate through its focus on the essential elements of quality care. The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and the American Board of Radiology (ABR), as a Member Board, have initiated this process.

ABR-MOC is a comprehensive vehicle through which all diplomates can ensure the public and the radiologic community that they are incorporating new information into their practices and delivering quality care.

MOC REQUIREMENTS

A summary of the six competencies and four parts of Maintenance of Certification can be found here.

To view your particular schedule, go to MOC Participation Guidelines. Please also see the MOC Participation Policy for detailed guidelines used to evaluate acceptable participation.

NOTE: All diplomates should keep the ABR apprised of any change in contact information or licensure.
