Last verified on June 9, 2021

After a candidate enters residency, their program director or coordinator will submit the candidate’s name and email address to the ABR as a new resident in the training program.

When this information is received, the ABR will send the candidate a notification and information for logging in to myABR to begin the application process. Please see Resident Registration Checklist.

Fees

The ABR has an exam fee model. Candidates are charged an application fee, a Qualifying (Core) Exam fee, and two Certifying Exam fees. If a candidate does not fully pass the Qualifying (Core) Exam or Certifying Exam on the first administration, a one-time re-exam fee will apply to retake that specific exam. Please note that all fees are subject to change.

Fees must be paid within myABR.

Please note that application and exam fees are not refundable.
