August 2026;19(4):11

ABR Trustee and radiation oncologist Jeff Michalski, MD, was presented with an American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Honorary Membership during the organization’s annual meeting in July. The AAPM awards the honor to individuals in recognition of their distinguished service to other societies that contribute to the support of medical physics.
The award recognizes Dr. Michalski’s involvement in quality assurance programs for the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, NRG Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, and other clinical trial programs. He was the principal investigator for the Advanced Technology QA Consortium and the Veterans Affairs Radiation Oncology Program Assessment contract.
“It is an immense honor to be recognized by my peers in medical physics,” Dr. Michalski said. “I value their partnership as we mutually explore means to make our treatments safer and more effective for our patients.”
Dr. Michalski is a professor and vice chair and director of clinical programs at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He earned his MD at the Medical College of Wisconsin, completed his residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, and earned an MBA at Washington University’s John Olin School of Business.
