DR Oral Exam Pilot Added to 2027 Schedule
Dates for the 2028 Diagnostic Radiology (DR) Oral Exam and DR and the Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR) Qualifying (Core) Exam have been finalized. The schedule also includes an opportunity for up to 220 eligible candidates to take the DR Oral Exam in 2027 as part of a pilot group.
Candidates are eligible for the pilot if they have passed the Qualifying (Core) Exam prior to June 2027, are either a resident or an alternate pathway candidate, and are on track to complete training by June 30, 2027.
Eligible candidates will be sent an email next April asking about their interest in participating in the pilot. The exam will be held as two one-day administrations on September 24 and 25, 2027. The pilot is optional and is not required for participation in the first DR Oral Exam in early 2028.
