Who can participate?

All 2022 graduating residents with an active ABR application and for whom we have received final training verification from their program director, regardless of exam status, can participate.

Is there a fee to participate?

There is no fee to participate.

When can I begin participating?

Once the ABR receives your final training verification from your program director, you will receive an email from the ABR inviting you to enroll.

Is this only for 2022 graduating residents?

At this time, this is a pilot project available only to 2022 graduating residents.

Will this self-assessment tool be available for future residents in their year of graduation?

A continuation for future graduating classes has not been determined at this time.

How many questions will I receive?

You will receive two questions per week.

How long will each question be available?

Questions will be available to answer for approximately four weeks.

How much time do I have to answer the questions?

You will have 10 minutes per question.

Will I be able to provide feedback on questions?

We do not accept feedback on questions.

How many questions do I need to answer?

You can answer as many, or as few, questions as you like.

What if I answer a question incorrectly?

You will receive information about whether you answered the question correctly, as well as an explanation of the answer and references for further study.

What if I don’t want to answer the question?

You can skip that question and move on to your next question when it is available. There is no required number of questions that need to be answered. Participation is optional.

Do I have to participate?

No, participation in this self-assessment tool is optional.

Can I use this tool to prepare for my upcoming ABR exams?

The self-assessment tool for residents is not intended to be used as a study guide for Initial Certification exams.

How long will I have access?

You will have access until you become board certified or your board eligibility ends, whichever occurs first.

What happens to my questions once I become board certified or my board eligibility ends?

Questions will be shown in your history while you are participating in this self-assessment tool. However, after certification, your question history will be cleared.

Does this count toward Continuing Certification (MOC)?

Once you become board certified, your participation in this self-assessment tool for residents does not count toward Continuing Certification (MOC).

Do I get CME credit for participating?

No, CME credit is not given for participation in the self-assessment tool for residents.
