MOC Annual Attestation

To update the ABR on MOC progress, diplomates should complete their annual attestation between January 1 and March 1 each year. Attestations are made through myABR.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I attest to meeting MOC requirements?

To attest to meeting your requirements, log in to myABR and click on each red incomplete requirement tab. On the bottom right, you will see the green “I Attest” button.

How do I enter my CME or PQI information?

The ABR no longer requires you to enter or upload detailed information regarding your MOC requirements. After you attest in myABR, simply retain your documentation in case you are selected for an MOC audit.

Can I access detailed CME and Self-Assessment credits entered in myABR prior to simplified attestation?

You may access the credits entered prior to the system upgrade until March 1, 2017. After that date, there will no longer be access to this information. To access your previously entered credits, log in to myABR. When logged in, click on the "Lifelong Learning" tab located on the left side menu bar. Next, click the "Export" button, followed by the "Export Report (CSV)" hyperlink. Once your information has been exported into an Excel spreadsheet, you may edit or add to it in order to maintain an accurate bookkeeping of your credits on your computer.

I need to take an MOC Exam. What do I do?

Those who needed to pass an MOC exam by March 2, 2017 (as indicated on the Part 3 tab in myABR) were still required to take and pass the exam in 2016 to meet the Part 3 requirement. All other diplomates in all of the ABR’s disciplines will be deferred from completing the Part 3 requirement and therefore will not need to take the MOC exam until OLA is available in their discipline. (This does not include Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Pain Medicine subspecialties.) Please go to the MOC Exam (Traditional) page on the ABR website to review the dates for the remaining MOC Exams and registration information.

I have already taken the MOC Exam. Why is my tab still red?

If you have already taken the MOC Exam but have not yet received your results, your Part 3 tab will still show as incomplete. After the exam results have been released and it is confirmed that you passed the exam, the system will automatically attest on your behalf.

How do I know if I am being audited?

If you were selected in a previous year to participate in the MOC audit, you would have received notification from the ABR audit specialist with steps on how to complete the audit. If you are unsure, please email information@theabr.org, and we can confirm for you.

All my tabs are green. What does this mean?

If all your tabs are green and your reporting status is showing that you are “Certified – Meeting MOC Requirements,” you have attested for this year, and you do not need to attest again until January 1 to March 1 of next year. If all your tabs are green and your reporting status is still showing “Certified – Not Meeting MOC Requirements,” please send an email to information@theabr.org so we can verify your status.

I am retiring soon. What do I need to do?

To decline MOC participation and be removed from the MOC program, please fill out the Request to Decline MOC Participation form.

I do not want to maintain my ABR certification any longer. What do I need to do?

To decline MOC participation and be removed from the MOC program, please send an email to information@theabr.org or call 520-790-2900.

What happens if my certificate lapses?

To regain a lapsed certificate, you must complete the self-service re-enrollment process in myABR. A few weeks after you re-enroll, we will call you to discuss MOC and answer any questions you may have.

How do I reset my password within myABR?

  • Click "I forgot my password."
  • Enter your five-digit ABRID number, which can be found on your certificate.
  • Enter your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number or Canadian ID number.
  • Create a new password. A valid password must be between 8 and 20 characters long and meet any two of the following three requirements:
