ABR Secretary/Treasurer Named ASNR President

ABR Board of Governors Secretary/Treasurer Robert M. Barr, MD, has been named American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) President for 2019-2020. His appointment took place at the ASNR’s 57th Annual Meeting in Boston.
Dr. Barr, of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates, P.A. in Charlotte, North Carolina, has been a staunch advocate for neuroradiology, helping to rebrand ASNR’s advocacy efforts under the ASNR Health Policy Committee, which he chaired from 2011 to 2017. He previously served as ASNR advisor to the AMA/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee and in numerous additional roles for the ASNR.
Dr. Barr is vice chair of the board of trustees for Novant Health. He also serves on the advisory board of the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute.
ASNR is an organization of more than 5,600 neuroradiologists and related professionals. Founded in 1962, ASNR is dedicated to maximizing the benefits of neuroradiology to patients and other providers by promoting the highest standards for training and practice and fostering research in the field.
