Are all board-certified general radiologists, diagnostic radiologists, radiation oncologists, and interventional/diagnostic radiologists eligible for this subspecialty certificate?

Yes. As an ABR-certified general radiologist, diagnostic radiologist, radiation oncologist, or interventional/diagnostic radiologist, you meet the basic eligibility requirements.  

Do I need to take the exam to get certified?

Yes, you need to take the exam that is administered through the ABA. Please see the Pain Medicine landing page for more information.  

Who will issue the certificate?

The ABR will issue the subspecialty certificate in pain medicine to its diplomates after obtaining exam results from the ABA.  

When will I receive my exam results?

The ABR will post exam results on myABR within three months of the exam.
