The ABR has an exam fee model. Candidates are charged an application fee, a Qualifying (Core) Exam fee, and a Certifying Exam fee. If a candidate does not fully pass the Qualifying (Core) Exam or the Certifying Exams on the first administration, a one-time re-exam fee will apply to retake that specific exam. Please note that all fees are subject to change.

Qualifying (Core) Exam Fee This fee is charged once your application has been approved and is due before registration for your Qualifying (Core) Exam. $1280
Certifying Computer-based Exam Fee This fee is charged once you have passed your Qualifying (Core) Exam and is due before registration for your Certifying Computer-based Exam. $1280
Certifying Oral Exam Fee This fee is charged once you have passed your Qualifying (Core) Exam and is due before registration for your Certifying Oral Exam. $1280
Re-exam Fee If you do not fully pass an exam, a one-time re-exam fee will be charged to retake that exam. $640
Candidates who register for an exam and cancel or do not show for the exam will have any paid exam fees applied to their next eligible exam. Candidates who register for a Certifying Oral Exam and cancel more than five business days after registration closes or do not show for the exam appointment will be charged a $400 cancellation/no show fee. Any exam fees paid will be applied to their next eligible exam.
Application fee is nonrefundable.
Payment in full or partial payments of $100 or more may be made by Visa™, MasterCard™, American Express™, or eCheck only (U.S. currency). Payment by cashier’s check or money order will not be accepted. If payment is declined for any reason, there will be a $100 processing fee.
