Initial Certification for Radiation Oncology

The three portions of the computer-based Qualifying Exam encompass all aspects of general oncology and radiation oncology, including treatment-planning techniques, physics, radiation and cancer biology, and specifics of all elements of multi-modality cancer care.
This exam is administered over two days at Pearson VUE Test Centers. On the first day, the Medical Physics for Radiation Oncology part (approximately 3 hours long) and the Radiation and Cancer Biology part (approximately 2½ hours long) are administered. The Clinical Radiation Oncology part (general and radiation oncology), administered on the second day, is approximately 4½ hours long.
