Candidates who have passed all of the Part 1 computer-based exam and their chosen medical physics specialty Part 2 computer-based exam(s) are eligible to take the Part 3 (Oral) Exam.

The initial invitation for the Part 3 (Oral) Exam is sent approximately five months before the exam. At that point, the candidate must accept the invitation and pay the exam fee.
Approximately two months before the exam, appointment forms are sent to those who have accepted the invitation and paid the exam fee. Candidates who register for an exam and cancel 30 days or more prior to the exam date will have any exam fees paid applied to their next eligible exam. Candidates who register for an exam and cancel fewer than 30 days prior to the exam date or do not show for the exam appointment forfeit any exam fees paid. More information is available on the Dates, Locations, and Fees page.
